2008 CARDV Mother’s Day Run/Walk for Safe Families
CARDV’s 6th Annual Mother’s Day Run/Walk for Safe Families, held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 was our most successful ever. The 396 participants and CARDV’s generous sponsors and donors raised over $24,000 to help end domestic and sexual violence in Linn and Benton Counties!
Albany Police Chief Ed Boyd officially started the race, then joined in and ran the 5K placing 1st in his age division! 149 runners and 111 walkers enjoyed the 5K course which started on Western St. in Corvallis and wound through Pioneer and Avery Parks.
John Arnold won the overall race in a time of 17:24. The first female runner to cross the finish line was Allison Furey with a time of 19:39. She placed 5th overall. John and Allison were both in the 20-29 age group.
Molly Steinbacher was our first 5K walker over the finish line with a time of 33:16.
