Candlelight Vigil Honors Survivors

15 January 2016 | 9:40 am

A crowd of nearly 40 people gathered at a candlelight vigil on the Linn County Courthouse steps in October to honor and remember those that have experienced domestic violence.

“This vigil has special significance because of the recent tragic deaths of two of our Linn County residents due to domestic violence,” said John Marchel, former CARDV Board Member and speaker at the vigil. Thank you to all of our speakers: Linn County Commissioner Will Tucker, Linn County District Attorney Doug Marteeny, and CARDV Board Member Kara McDonald.

Attendees were urged to be champions for survivors by speaking up, carrying the CARDV Crisis and Support phone number, and getting involved with outreach efforts.  For more information contact CARDV’s Volunteer Coordinator at (541) 738-8319 x307 or click here to email.
